Every documented failure we hold for a range has a check that costs nothing, and it comes before any part. Some of them are the whole fix:

Run an independent oven thermometer test first — many 'won't hold temperature' complaints are a door seal or venting issue, not the thermostat.
Clear grease buildup or debris from the wheel and housing before ordering a replacement.
Check the door is closing flush and the latch hooks are seating fully before assuming a switch has failed.
Reseat any section that's simply popped out of its channel before ordering a replacement gasket.
A visual check costs nothing and catches most broil element failures outright.

Is it worth fixing?

Usually, yes. There is no federal energy certification for ranges, so we cannot run a running-cost comparison — but the documented failures are overwhelmingly elements and igniters, which are cheap parts.
