Every documented failure we hold for a washer has a check that costs nothing, and it comes before any part. Some of them are the whole fix:
- Clean the drain filter - manual: MAINTENANCE.
- Clean the inlet filter screens - manual: Cleaning the Water Inlet Filters.
- Redistribute the load and re-level the machine - manual: the unbalance error causes.
- Rule out an overloaded or badly unbalanced load first — repeated imbalance shutdowns can throw a belt off its pulleys with nothing actually broken; rebalance the load and retry before ordering a part.
- Check for a coin or underwire trapped between drum and tub before assuming bearings.
Is it worth fixing?
Usually, yes. Washer parts are among the cheapest we hold, and the running-cost difference between a working machine and a current one is small. The exception is water: our certified per-cycle water figures are the number worth comparing.
