Codes are brand-specific and the same letters can mean different things on different machines, so this tells you whether you're chasing a door/lock fault, a fill fault, or a drain fault before you open anything.
- Power-cycle the machine Unplug it for a full minute, or switch off the breaker, then restart the cycle from the beginning. This clears a control-board glitch, which is a real and common cause of a stray code. - Confirm the door or lid is latched Many codes are the control board reporting it can't confirm the door is locked, even when it looks closed.
